Our Promise
At Autism Care Partners (ACP), we are committed to fostering an environment of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJB) in all aspects of our service delivery. We recognize that every individual, regardless of their background or identity, deserves access to quality and culturally sensitive care and our internal stakeholders deserve a workplace that embraces the same.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the scientific study of behavior that uses positive reinforcement to help clients learn. The goals of ABA include increasing adaptive behaviors, such as communication, independence, and social interactions, and decreasing interfering behaviors, such as aggression and eloping (wandering or running away).

Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy supports an individual in communicating in a more functional way by improving verbal, nonverbal, and social communication skills. In addition to individual sessions, clients may join language groups with their peers at the center to address communication and interaction in a group setting. These groups provide valuable opportunities for children to practice and improve social communication skills in a supportive and structured environment!

Occupational Therapy
The term occupation refers to activities that occupy your time. For kids, the most important areas of occupation include play, school, and activities of daily living (dressing, eating, bathing). Occupational Therapy sessions are individualized based on the learner’s needs but commonly focus on fine motor skills, visual motor skills, motor coordination, motor planning, and sensory processing to help your child participate in everyday life.
Diagnostic Evaluations
Our licensed, doctoral-level Clinical Psychologists conduct comprehensive clinical psychological evaluations with the goal of helping children, adolescents, and young adults better understand their unique strengths and weaknesses.

Psychology internships and training opportunities
Autism Care Partners is proud to offer a variety of training opportunities for practicum-level pre-doctoral and post-doctoral psychology interns. We are committed to providing high quality training and supervision for these students and are currently an APPIC member internship site undergoing accreditation.
We also partner with local graduate programs, such as William James College, the University of Rhode Island, and Johnson and Wales University to provide practicum-level training in psychology for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students.
For questions related to our accreditation status, please contact the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation.

Questions to consider
Becoming an RBT—is this the right fit for me?
Working as a Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is demanding and rewarding work. The role is the right fit for someone who loves working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Technician, you will work one-on-one with children, record data on your client’s session, and work collaboratively with your supervisor to gauge the child’s progress on their goals.
What does the day in the life of an RBT at ACP look like?
A Technician collaborates with their BCBA to execute the treatment plan tailored to meet each client’s specific goals. This might include potty training, pairing or building rapport, reinforcing positive behavior and blocking negative behavior, like self-harm.
What are the typical responsibilities of an RBT?
Every day looks different for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at ACP. Because our sessions are led by the child’s motivations, you will work on the client’s goals in a variety of ways. Typical activities include reading, coloring, playing with peers, and more. During all of these fun activities, you will record data on the child’s progress to reach their goals such as improved social skills, using the potty, and lessening self-injurious behavior.
What should I expect as a BCBA at ACP?
At ACP, our BCBAs play a crucial role in ensuring our services match our core values of collaboration, inclusion, ethics, clinical excellence, and optimism & hope. To reward this dedication, ACP’s BCBAs can expect low caseloads, CEUs, an obtainable bonus structure, and support in their professional growth.
What does a typical caseload look like for a SLP at ACP?
Our SLPs work on an interdisciplinary team to service individuals ranging from toddlers to early school-aged children. Clients most often present with a range and variety of needs including speech, language and communication deficits, co-occurring with apraxia, sensory processing differences, and feeding challenges. The primary function of the SLP is to support clients in developing a functional communication system and meeting them where they are at, to become independent and effective communicators in life, in whatever modality that is. Many SLPs are trained to support their clients’ feeding difficulties to maintain optimal nutrition and growth as well.
What does the day in the life of a SLP at ACP look like?
SLPs at ACP perform essentials duties in our center-based settings. Dedicated Speech Therapy rooms are designated within the center, and are stocked with assessments, toys, and any other materials that might be needed for a successful therapy session. SLPs engage with clients in the designated “Speech room” as well as with their clients in their natural environment, such as the kitchen during lunch, the gross motor room while playing with their friends, or outside on the playground. When SLPs are not working with their clients in direct therapy sessions, time is built into the schedule for collaboration with other disciplines and caseload discussion, caregiver training, and documentation using one of many templates developed for efficiency in report writing. Every day brings variety, meaningful connections with families, and opportunities to make a measurable impact.
Are there opportunities for SLPs to connect with other providers in the same field at ACP?
Yes! The SLP team at ACP meets regularly to collaborate and continue professional growth through virtual meetings. Additionally, every SLP meets regularly with their supervisor from the same discipline to ensure that needs are met, and all SLPs are well supported. ACP is approved as an ASHA CE Provider. Therefore, we are now offering regular in-house CE opportunities for our SLPs.
Does ACP support future SLPs on their educational journey?
Absolutely! ACP is always open to providing observation opportunities for students in Communication Sciences and related undergraduate programs. Also, ACP is contracted with a number of colleges and universities to support graduate students in their clinical practicum experiences. If you are interested in observation or clinical practicum opportunities, please reach out to our Director of Speech-Language Pathology, Jillian D’Angelo at JDangelo@AutismCarePartners.com!
What should I expect as an OT at ACP?
At ACP clinical excellence and client care are top priorities across our Occupational Therapy team. To encourage professional growth and evidence-based practice, ACP’s OTs can expect free CEU AOTA approved courses, CEU yearly allowance, and collaboration within their team as they learn new skills.
What does the day in the life of an OT at ACP look like?
ACP’s OTs spend the majority of their day providing quality therapy sessions. Collaboration is highly encouraged with RBTs attending OT sessions for education and carryover strategies.
What collaboration opportunities are available for ACP's OTs?
One of ACP’s core values is collaboration. At ACP, RBTs attend client OT sessions in order to provide support if needed, learn new techniques provided in the OT sessions, and work to carryover OT strategies across the client’s day. BCBAs are encouraged to attention OT sessions when able to further strengthen a full team approach to client care. ACP ensures interdisciplinary care with weekly team meetings including BCBAs, OTs, and SLPs in order to provide clinical excellence.
